How to Enable NSFW Content on Reddit

This wikiHow teaches you how to view mature, NSFW (not safe for work) posts on Reddit. To do this, you must indicate that you are over 18 years old and then manually enable NSFW content in your account settings on the Reddit website. You cannot enable this content from within the Reddit mobile app and must do so from the website as it should unlock NSFW content in the mobile app as well.

   Open Reddit on your computer. Go to https://www.reddit.com in a web browser. This will open your Reddit home page if you're logged in.

   • If you aren't logged into Reddit, click Log in in the upper-right side of the page, then enter your username and password.

   Go to the NSFW Preferences subreddit. This page isn't actually NSFW; however, doing this will prompt you to confirm that you're 18 years old, which will unlock the NSFW preferences in your Reddit settings.

   Click CONTINUE. It's in the middle of the page. This will take you to the subreddit, from which point you should be able to change your Reddit NSFW settings.

   Click preferences. It’s a small link in the upper-right side of the page. Doing so takes you to your account preferences page.

   Scroll down to the “content options” header. It’s close to the bottom of the Preferences page.

   Indicate that you are over 18. Check the "I am over eighteen years old and willing to view adult content" box at the top of the "content options" section.

   Click save options. It’s a grey button at the bottom of the page. You may have to scroll down to see this button. Clicking it returns you to the top of the Preferences page.

   Enable NSFW thumbnails. In the "media" section, uncheck the "Hide images for NSFW/18+ content" box that's below the NSFW Content heading.

   Enable NSFW content. Scroll back down to the "content options" heading, then check the "include not safe for work (NSFW) search results in searches" box.

    Scroll down and click save options. You can now view adult content on Reddit. If you're logged into the Reddit mobile app with the same account as you used here, you should also be able to view NSFW content there
